Tomorrow

I'm so excited for tomorrow. I have my last final tomorrow, but right before I'll be heading to the Calgary Sample Sale. Some f my favourite brands will be there, including J Brand, Joe Jeans, and Free People. I'm really hoping to score a pair of black skinny jeans from J Brand and a jacket from Free People.

I'm so sad to hear about Boston today, and my thoughts are with the victims and families of all those affected. If you want to help, donate to Red Cross or Salvation Army (they're the safest/most secure charity as it's so soon after the tragedy).

Spring Trends I Love

My infection has nearly healed, so my foot is looking almost normal, albeit very dry. However, I should be able to start taking photos in a few days, as I'm tired of being relegated to winter boots and flip flops. In the mean time, I thought I'd share a bit of spring inspiration.

It's supposed to start warming up here, so I thought I'd share a few of the spring trends I love and think anyone can wear. A lot of the clothing I saw on the runways was quite wearable actually, except perhaps Marchesa's gowns; gotta save those for special occasions. ;) 

The main trend I loved was all the black and white, as well as the layering. I'm not really a black and white girl, as I think it looks a bit harsh on my warmer skin, but still, a lovely, completely wearable trend all the same. I've also been taken with the grunge look this spring (as well as bohemian). All the layers are perfect for the cool, unpredictable weather here. Calgary weather truly is menopausal. Just last week it was 10 degrees Celsius, and for the past two days it's been nothing but snow.

Sorry

Sorry for the long hiatus there. I suffered from an infection due to s small scrape on my foot, which then turned into a large scrape. It became badly infected the next day and swollen to the size of a football. Needless to say, I ended up having to go to the hospital and ended up needing an IV for the weekend. Thankfully I was allowed to go home and to work, albeit with an IV in a fanny pack. (I hid it in a large purse for work for the sake of my pride.) I'm almost better now, and have switched to oral antibiotics. My foot is also considerably less swollen, so I can now wear boots at least. I'll try and have  some photos for you this weekend.
Lesson learned: get a scrape breaking in a new pair of shoes, apply some alcohol and polysporin.

April Fools!

April Fools Arielle! Your camera is going to overexpose everything while you take photos and the sun is too bright to actually notice via the on-camera screen. =P Ah well, so go my adventures in self photography. Does anyone have any tips?



In case you're wondering, my skirt is actually a circle scarf from American Apparel. I love these since they always manage to drape so perfectly, whether you're wearing it as a scarf, skirt, or top. I'll have to look into getting one in a dark grey or navy.

Skirts and dresses are my lazy day wear. Or my fat/bloated day wear. Case in point, my idea of meals yesterday consisted of chocolate covered strawberries, cheesecake, chocolate ice cream and truffles. I'll have to eat half healthily for the rest of the week if I want to wear pants again... Maybe this is why I never wear pants. Dessert is just too good!

I'm always torn between what I want, and what I actually need for my closet.

Case in point: I own maybe one pair of shorts that still fit well, yet no where on my wants list is a pair of shorts. I'd rather spend my money somewhere else, and yet I need shorts so as to have more variety in outfit choices, and they're just a summer necessity in general. So if you see a nice pair, let me know! Until then, I'll just live my summer in skirts.
