TOPSHOP Opening Up in Chinook Centre!

TOPSHOP will be opening in Chinook Centre here in Calgary! Needless to say, I cannot wait! I really hope they offer as good a selection as their British stores though, unlike when Scotch and Soda opened here. I also hope the markup in price won't be as bad as it is at The Bay. TOPSHOP is just so much cheaper to by in England... perhaps I'll go soon. The store will be opening in the fall.

Spring Weather

For my twentieth post, I present to you - myself! Calgary was really warm so I finally took pictures of myself today. I just bought these black shorts and I love how they they look with tights. And who knew I'd like pleated shorts so much!

If you can't tell, I have no idea what I'm doing with my hands, and between the way they're positioned and the way my shirt folded on itself, I look really bloated. Sorry about that. I'll try to get better at self portraits, but it's a bit difficult running to and from the camera every ten seconds. At least I got a bit of a work out though. This summer I'll try and invest in a remote.

Monochromatic

Moon Kyu Lee's monochromatic look for Fashion Gone Rogue looks amazing, with just enough print and sparkles to up the anti! And the blue eyeshadow/liner, the perfect pop of colour!

I can't wait til it warms up a bit here so I can get away from my parka. I love it, but I'm a bit bored of it now. I'm loving the lighter jackets in this shoot. Perhaps I'll need to go jacket hunting some more. I still haven't found my perfect spring jacket this year.

FairyTale

Nastya Kusakina did an ethereal shoot for Dazed & Confused's March issue. The shoot featured the work of Jeff Bark, who captured the model in a selection of midi and maxi dresses reminiscent of spring and classic fairy tales from the woods.

The clothes were gorgeous and by designers Alexander McQueen, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent. I can't wait for summer, where I can wear all my dresses without tights and sweaters. Not that that's not cute either. Also, I need another maxi dress. I saw one at Zara, but I haven't seen it since. Oh Zara, you never have the same stock for long. =(

Fashion Gone Rogue

I might have a slight obsession with colour. I swear this happens every year, around the same time - a few weeks after Fashion Week. I know emerald green is the chosen Pantone colour, but this year I think blue is in.

I don’t pull colbot off very well, as I think it overpowers me and is too cool for my yellow undertones, but I love it anyways. I need something in this colour, and this Celine bag is absolutely perfect! I’m slowly discovering a penchant for expensive bags… very expensive bags. I’m going to have to start budgeting a little bit better I think. Spend money on bags; go a little bit cheaper with clothes except for the basics? And then to afford all the travel I want to do… and my habit of liking the latest and greatest technology? I need a better job, but what’s a poor student to do?

Turquoise

New jeans and a new bag! I was looking for a light-washed pair of jeans, and found these at Zara. The bag I ordered from Botkier while they were having a 50% off sale. It's the most gorgeous colour, no? Now i just need more blouses and sweaters to go with the jeans. It'll be an expensive month in April.

The Beginning

I've decided to expand my style a bit, as I'm really no good at layering (hence the mass amount of skirts and dresses that I wear, so easy and chic!).For the next few months, I'm going to play around more with pants and layering, especially layering jewelry!



I've haven't really worn pants or jeans since I was in high school. I always thought the standard jeans and t-shirt was a bit boring, and I never really experimented with playing it up, besides adding a cardigan. I'm feeling inspired though, and I think I know a lot more now than I did then. Thank God for the world of fashion blogging, it's such an inspirational source!

I'm going to start of with bracelets and watches, move on to rings, and finally necklaces. I think I've finally gathered enough bracelets for a little while. They should be here mid April. It's going to be an expensive few months. Now, should I buy a new camera lens... or spend the money on some wardrobe investments?
